# Maths and Numeracy

## Our aims are to

- Develop enquiring minds to solve open ended problems
- Develop numeracy skills and link to cross-curricular projects
- Highlight the value of mathematics in the wider world
- Help pupils become more independent towards their own learning
- To provide opportunities for pupils to develop their confidence in a range of methods and techniques that prepares them for the challenges that are set

## Extra Curricular at Clayton

Help & support is available every Tuesday & Thursday lunchtime at the Homework Club in Room 29. There is a mathematics teacher present to help with homework or topics that pupils may be struggling with. There are also computers available for MyMaths etc.

Year 11 intervention sessions are arranged and notified to students as required.

## How can I help my child and who do I contact?

You can help by ensuring students are responsible and ready to learn by having a pencil, ruler, calculator and pen. Encourage them to speak to teachers and attend homework club if they need help.
