Business and Computing

The department aims to develop confident students who are equipped with the practical skills and knowledge and are able to apply this in any social, further education and/or employment situation. All students study IT in Yrs 7 and 8, and options are now chosen to start in Year 9. Due to the changes in GCSE examinations, in 2017 both Yr 9 and Yr 10 IT students will be studying the same curriculum as below.

Complete graphic, review and suggest improvements. Optional unit to be agreed

Pupils will be completing the Level 2 Cambridge National Certificate in Creative iMedia. The course requires them to study the pre-production skills used in creating a digital produce and is assessed by examination. They will also look at Digital Graphics and Website Design, along with a further unit to be confirmed.

Pupils must research a small business of their choice, outside of school in order to complete the Controlled Assessment which is 25% of their final GCSE grade.
